I am very excited to see our little lovebug’s reaction to all the excitement of this evening and tomorrow for her 2nd Christmas. The family and friends, the good food and the rest of the happiness that this wonderful holiday brings us. Buon Natale!

Our little 20-month-old is a much different little character this Christmas season and god-willing, it’s only going to get better. She dances around to the Christmas music that is constantly on in the house, is my little taste-tester on most of my Christmas baking and plays near the decorated tree occasionally going to “play” with some of her favorite ornaments. Each decoration is new and exciting to her and it’s fun for us to watch how she interacts with it all. I can’t wait until Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!

While in Italy over the summer, we took a long drive through the Abruzzo countryside and happened upon these flowers. Not sure what kind they are, but I fell in love with the color immediately. Who wouldn’t love these flowers all around their home to brighten the day?!

I love the holidays, each and every one of them, but one of my favorite times of year is the time between Thanksgiving and New Years. Forget going to the malls, fighting over parking spots, standing in long lines to pay insane amounts of dollars on things, I enjoy all the other stuff. The obscene amount of baking that takes place, the excitement swirling in the minds of little kids and the rememberance of another year coming to an end and the hopes of even better times ahead. I love decorating our home, even moreso this year as our lovebug can “assist,” making homemade goodies for our friends and families and indulging in each moment spent with loved ones during this magical holiday season.
