My own ladybug last Halloween at 7 months old

Ladybugs are just the most adorable, the real insect and the kind that wear Halloween costumes too! Maybe I like them because they’re red and that’s my favorite color, but they’re just so small and pretty. Usually during the summer, we can find a few that sneaked into our home and I just let them be or take them outside…never, ever squish a ladybug!

In the meadow-grass
The innocent white daisies blow,
The dandelion plume doth pass
Vaguely to and fro, -
The unquiet spirit of a flower
That hath too brief an hour.

Ellen Mackay Hutchinson Cortissoz

My husband and I spent a glorious afternoon in the port town of Gallipoli located in Southern Italy. We took the long way there, an hour total, passing through little towns, vineyards and olive tree groves. Since we decided to go in the afternoon when the rest of Italy is taking a siesta , we had the streets pretty much to ourselves to roam and snap pictures.

Sometimes I don’t know if it’s possible to be more in love with our little lovebug, but then she goes and cuddles up on the couch right next to me and falls asleep.  Ain’t love grand?!

I spent 13 years living just outside Annapolis, Maryland and have grown to love it even more now that I’m not just 15 minutes from Main Street. On a recent visit to my family, we spent a morning strolling lovebug around the boats and in and out of the many quaint shops. Maryland’s state capitol has something for everyone…shops and restaurants to attract all walks of life with the Chesapeake Bay as the perfect backdrop.

I couldn’t resist snapping this shot of our little lovebug banging her hands on the door wanting to go out and play with the rest of the kids. Even though she is by far the youngest of the neighborhood, she likes to get right in with the mix of things and feel included.

I had the honor of being the photographer at my friend’s wedding this past weekend and had an incredible time. It really means a lot to me that I was included in their special day and helped to conserve some beautiful memories.

There are three things that last: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.
